It’s that time of year again where I become another year older and another year wiser!.. Well I don’t know about the wiser part but yes I am officially another year older!
Last weekend I celebrated another fabulous year of my life with some family and friends down at the Public Dining Room which is a beachfront restaurant in Balmoral (on Sydney’s lower north shore). What started off to be a grey and dreary day, turned out to be a wonderfully warm and sunny autumn day. With a cake, balloons and candles in tow, we headed down to the beach to pop some champagne!
Because of the amazing scenery in Sydney there are a lot of great restaurants that I’d go to just to enjoy the spectacular views! This would definitely be one of my top picks – especially during the day when you can look out at that amazing blue water! Luckily the food and wine is also sensational too so it’s no wonder it’s such a crowd pleaser!
Some of the delights we picked for entrees were the twice baked fontina & parmesan souffle (yum!)…
And the hiramasa kingfish carpaccio with pomelo tears, chilli and soy reduction.
And the line up for mains included the game farm cord-fed chicken breast with figs, barley and harissa…
The house made tagliatelle with Alaskan king crab, tomato concasse, zucchini and chilli…
And the Tasmanian pasture fed eye fillet with pine mushrooms, bone marrow and brown onion jus (with the amazing view in the background!).
And after we finished our delicious lunch we headed to the beach to take a few happy snaps…
Which almost lead to me being taken out to sea!
But luckily whilst I’m another year older, my reflexes are still in good working order! No water made it on this girl!
I had such an amazing day and it was so good that a few us rolled ourselves down the road to kick on the festivities… followed my more food and espresso martinis!
It was such a great birthday! Now only 365 days until we can do it all again!
