I have yearned for a marble coffee table for a long time. In fact I’ve got a whole Pinterest board dedicated to beautiful coffee tables (take a peek here)!
Before Christmas I went searching like a mad woman to try and find one I really liked. I was originally looking for a round coffee table to soften all the edges in the living room but I also have always loved the West Elm marble coffee tables too.
As luck would have it (for me, not my bank account), there was a sale on at West Elm after Christmas. After some umm-ing and ahh-ing, I finally bit the bullet and decided to treat the ‘house’ to a new coffee table. The living room loved it by the way, it told me so!
It’s a Carrara marble but the vein isn’t as pronounced as some of the tops that I saw in-stores. I wish it had a little more swirl running through it but I know getting a piece of marble is like a lottery dip.
Of course, no one is allowed to eat spaghetti or beetroot on the table and coasters are a must! There has been some water and coffee split on it but it seems to clean up well. I just use a damp cloth with some luke warm water.
Knowing how clumsy I am, there will inevitably be red wine that ends up on the table someday… I’ll be sure to let you know the day that happens! There will probably be tears, followed by some cursing, followed by some more tears.
Also, how pretty are these tulips? Google tells me they are called Honeymoon Tulips with their feathery looking petals. I wish Spring would hurry up! It’s so gloomy and wet in the UK at the moment so I’m compensating with lots of pretty flowers indoors.

Here are some other great marble coffee tables that I found on my travels. I’ve tried to link where I could find them but some are only available in certain countries (sorry!).
