Exciting News!

October 24, 2016

You have have noticed that something was a little different in the last post on The Urban Quarters…

If you look on my left hand then you will see may see something sparkling on my finger! Yes that’s right! Mr TUQ proposed!

One night while shooting the sunset during our holiday in Cinque Terre, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I stood there and couldn’t say anything! Not because I wasn’t going to say yes, but I was a little shocked and also completely over the moon!

The Urban Quarters - ManarolaWe’ve been together for 7.5 years and I guess some people think it’s strange that we hadn’t got engaged and married sooner.

I have to confess that I’m not a huge romantic type (I had to ask Mr TUQ which finger my engagement was meant to go on). We’d got our apartment and I kind of felt that was as good as being  married.

Well I’m happy to admit that I was wrong!

I couldn’t be happier calling Mr TUQ my fiancé and my future husband. Since back in London, I still feel very giddy wearing my ring!

The Urban Quarters - ManarolaWe’ve had a wonderful time celebrating this happy period in our lives with all or lovely friends in London. Although it has made us feel a little homesick being so far away from friends and family at home. There has been lots of cheesy FaceTiming to make up for the distance!

When are we getting married?

the-urban-quarters-engagement-ring-2That is the million dollar question! I always thought eloping sounded like a good idea but I’m coming around to the idea of a small wedding. At the moment we can’t even figure out which continent we’d get married in, let alone any of the specific details!

I’m sure we will figure something out in the end and we’ve promised our parents it won’t take another 7.5 years!

In the meantime, thank you for everyone’s warm wishes and for coming on this journey with The Urban Quarters!
